The transfer of data from tablet to phone

Usage of gadgets is a continuous process of improvement and up-gradation. In this manner, a person always wants to update the gadgets he uses and keep them up to date. There are multiple reasons to do so. One reason might be to get the latest version of mobile or tablet, other reason may be the usage and need for certain features. Whatever may be the reason, you always need to transfer data from your old device to a new one or from one device to another one.

When transferring from a tablet to a phone, there are multiple ways to do so. But this also depends on whether you are using Apple devices (iPhone and iPad) or Android devices (any android phone and any android based tablet). Devices with similar software are easy when transferring the data.

If you want to transfer data from an android tablet to android mobile, depending on the size of data (especially average file size), you can use a Bluetooth connection or over the wifi using any data transfer app. Both these methods are time-consuming, slow as the data transfer rate is slow in Bluetooth whereas, over the wifi, it depends on the connection speed of wifi.

Another way to transfer data is by using an OTG USB device. This device is easily connected with tablets and mobiles and acts as external storage which is an easy and reliable method to use when transferring heavy files from the tablet to the phone.

The third way to transfer data from tablets to mobile is by using a connection cord and a laptop or computer. You connect your tablet with a laptop and transfer the data into a laptop. Then connect mobile with the same laptop and transfer the data. This takes twice as time, you have to sit with the computer and ensure the cord doesn’t move because mostly a slight movement in the connection cord disconnects the device leaving the data transfer stuck and sometimes, data loss. So the best way to transfer small files is Bluetooth and for large files, OTG USB drive.

Now, when it comes to Apple devices, one option is to keep the devices synced and most of the data is already shared between the devices as soon as the data is transferred into one device. Still, large files require another reliable method of data transfer. The only way to transfer large files in apple devices is iTunes installed on a laptop. MacBook and Mac have iTunes installed by default and it is used to connect multiple devices over the wifi as well as through a connection cord. All you have to do is to get the iPad connected with the laptop or Macbook, open it in iTunes, import data to the computer by making a backup on the computer. Connect other devices and restore the saved data backup and your data is transferred. It’s a time taking process depending on the size of data.

From iPad to Android phone or vice-versa, you need to connect to a laptop/computer and transfer data through a connection cord as there is no way you can connect both devices and share data. Images, videos can be shared between Android and IOS via WhatsApp and other similar applications, but other file types need the use of a computer to transfer data without data loss.
